Having qualified in 1992, after studying for 4 years at the European School of Osteopathy, Alexander sought and gained an assistantship at the Oakington Therapy Centre in Cambridgeshire. Not long after that he decided to live in Ely.
Within a very short period of time it became very apparent that Ely would be a great place to set up a practice. Working out of a room at the local gym, The Atrium, an osteopathic practice grew rapidly. Before long it became obvious that the need for a complementary centre was required in the city. Alexander purchased Sextry House in 1996 which provided the perfect space to open Ely Complementary Health Centre. Over the last two decades the practice has grown in patient numbers, choice of disciplines and practitioners, providing both orthodox and complementary services which has the endorsement of local GP practices and Consultants.
In 2013 Alexander purchased a holiday home in Hunstanton. His grandmother had been born in Heacham, to a family with a local business, and though she traveled extensively with the RAF, she eventually retired to Ringstead. Subsequently, Alexander’s childhood holidays had been spent on the North Norfolk beaches and Heacham retained a special place in his life.
When Tamsin suggested she would like to set up a small practice near the sea Alexander agreed to being the osteopathic arm of the practice. After the purchase and two year renovation of a property in the heart of Heacham village, The Drift, Heacham Complementary Health was ready to open its’ doors. Alexander offers an osteopathic service utilising a wide range of techniques to suit all ages, working in conjunction with Acupuncture and Soft Tissue, Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy practitioners.
It is extremely important to Alexander and Tamsin that like Ely Complementary Health Centre, the ethos of The Drift, Heacham Complementary Health, is to provide the patient with the best possible care by the most pertinent practitioner, ensuring the patient’s optimal health.
When Alexander is not busy treating clients, he can be found at the North Beach, windsurfing if the conditions permit. Tied by tides and weather, Alexander also has a passion for the environment and the local wildlife and can often be seen litter picking on the beach.
